Computer Down

Right after New Year's, my computer crashed. It was really weird. I had been using before we went to church and it went into sleep mode while I was gone. I went to check my email when we got home and it wouldn't boot up. So I called Apple Care (I have a Macbook, I will always have Mac, I HATE Windows). They tried walking me through getting it to boot up in an alternative mode, it didn't work. So I set-up an appointment with the Genius Bar at the nearest Apple store.

When I got to the Genius Bar they looked at my computer and got 'the look' on their face. The look that spells ka-ching! I started getting worried. There was no way we were going to be able to buy a new MacBook. He said to give him a few minutes and went into the back. He came back with bad news. My hard drive was toast (not unexpected, it was 3 years old)! I wanted to cry, and I think he could tell because he started giving me all the options of what I could do.

Then the Genius Bar boss wanders over to assess the situation. I think I must have had a bad/emotional look on my face. He punched some stuff into the computer and then he says, "Hey, don't worry. You qualify for this thing because your computer is old. We'll replace your hard drive for free! But the bad thing is that they don't make the 60G any more, we have to replace it with a 180G." At this point I almost broke down in tears.

So I got a new hard drive, I'm looking into finding a place that can pull the stuff off my old hard drive, and they also replaced part of my outside casing. So, all in all, I got a totally new, cool Mac and it didn't cost me a thing.

I LOVE APPLE!

Glad it all worked out. Don't tell Ryan, he already has a thing against Mac's!
